A First Make-A-Long

I’ve finished another pair of socks for this KAL!

Very pretty!!!

All the pieces are knitted. Just have to do the hood, sew, and weave in the ends.

I SOOOOOOOOO want to try this technique!!! But having become jobless recently, I find that I have more time than money, lol. So for now, I will have to live vicariously through you adventurous souls! I’m sorry that the topic wasn’t able to be moved from the previous platform.

My kiddos and I dyed some yarn today with Kool-aid!

Edit: Holy pictures, Batman. Those are massive! I haven’t figured out how to adjust the image size. Sorry!

Hi fellow knitters! We are at the beach until Sunday, and while I have made progress, I did not bring pins and my blocking squares that are needed for a pic. I Wil post a pic on Sunday. I am getting closer to the finish line!

The colors are amazing!

So cool! Or should I say “kool”?

What flavors did you use? Those look amazing!

Ok, here is my update! I have just uploaded for the second time, when I returned to this page my pic wasn’t visible…Anyhooo I am about 10 rows further along than my last pic, and I just chaged to the darkest color for the final rows but a little hard to tell yet. Just want to add this shawl is called Hortense Beaded Lace Shawl bythelilypond.com to make sure the designer gets the proper credit. Have had inquiries on the yarn and it is Malabrig Silkpaca lace, colors 63 Natural, 36 Pearl, and 601 Simply Taupe.

I blocked my shawl today. Still can’t decide if I
will keep or frog (due to the color difference. I’ll have my son help me with an outdoor picture when the sun is shiny later.

Off to finish some toes on socks!

I think it is lovely. The slight color difference to me is barely noticeable - but it is your shawl so you must do what will make you want to wear it and not put it on a shelf. I’d wear it a couple of times before deciding. If you wrap it around your neck and tie it, the color difference could give it a bit of a “pop” maybe!

Congrats on persevering! It was well worth it for the rest of us so we can get to see your awesome socks!!! :O)

I finished my lacy socks! They are for a friend who suffered a horrible amount of injuries last fall in an accident. I believe her last surgery is August first. :o

I would definitely wear them! What a FUN pair of socks! I haven’t done socks in a while but I’m getting inspired by the sock projects on this MAL.

Just checking in. Slow progress, had to frog about 10 rounds, but the yarn is so luscious I really didn’t mind. I feel like I got more knitting in by frogging. Still thinking I won’t finish by the deadline but my first MAL sure is fun!!!

It looks great! I’m glad your first MAL has been fun, that’s the most important thing.

Ooh, what kind of yarn are you using?

What a sweet gift for a friend in need. She will LOVE them and I am sure feel the love and kindness that went into every stitch.

Looks luxurious! What are you making? Looks like a sweater to me but for all I know it could be a toaster cover
