Interesting! I wouldn’t have expected the issue with the heel flap stitches. Sometimes colors that break can create cool effects … and sometimes it can just mess everything up. Glad you were able to rescue it.
ETA now that you added the pictures, I have to add that I think the breaking made for a seriously cool effect!!!
