I agree about the zing factor of striped bindings. Small plaids on the bias (or printed diagonally) can have a similar effect. So fun to fold back a piece to a narrow width and audition with a nearly-done quilt.

BTW, changed my mind on the backing fabric. I had a half yard piece of a light grey with dogs on it. The dogs have aqua and turquoise collars on. The family who is having the baby are definitely dog people, so I am off today to see if I can buy another couple yards of it for a single piece backing. It will be perfect! (except for the fact that the quilt was to be all from stash…ah well!)
It was INSPIRED by stash, that’s the same thing. 
I wish I’d had someone tell me to buy directional fabric sheet sets thirty years ago.
I have bought so much more stuff in order to be able to put stash to good use - ha ha!
